Although it may not be obvious at first glance, a fishing holiday is something that might be suitable for the whole family, and one of the places where this holds true is Sweden. The family might include one or two people who are keen on fishing, but other than that the beautiful scenery and the variety of outdoor activities on offer in Sweden appeal to a much broader range of holidaymakers.  Camps, nature trails, theme parks, and wildlife safaris of different sorts are all possible in Sweden, and fishing can be an integral part of this, given the large number of places in Sweden where fishing is possible.

For fishing enthusiasts, fishing holidays in Sweden present many different ways to get hooked again on a favourite pastime. Sea fishing, river fishing, and lake fishing are all possible, depending on the location, and given the size of Sweden and the number of places where fishing is possible, activities can be as communal or as solitary as one might wish.

There is also a good range of fish species to tempt with a line or rod, including trout, carp, and roach. It is fishing for pike, though, that offers one of the most distinctive experiences to be had in Sweden. Some fishing folk reckon that Sweden is the best country in the world for hunting large pike, which can be found in rivers and lakes as well as in the sea.
